The 12th Hungarian Film Festival of Los Angeles

The 12th Hungarian Film Festival of Los Angeles, funded by Bela Bunyik and organized in collaboration with The Consulate General of Hungary in Los Angeles and the Magyar Filmunio, makes a special appearance at SF State. The festival kicks off at 1 p.m. Nov. 13 with Csak a szel (Just the Wind), Hungary's entry for Best Foreign Film at the 2012 Academy Awards. Director Benedek Fliegauf will be present and will participate in a Q&A following the screening. Other highlights include The Door by Academy Award winner Istvan Szabo and starring Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, and Az ember tragediaja (The Tragedy of Man), an animated feature by Cannes Palme D'Or winner Marcell Jankovics. Each film will be followed by a discussion with moderators Steven Kovács, film director and Cinema professor, and Reka Pigniczky, documentary filmmaker for 56Films. Free ($5 suggested donation for non-students).
